Kids Korner: Gabby's Day At The Races: Track and Field Day 2014!

Local fourth and fifth grade students, from a few elementary schools in Midland,

 took part in "field day" on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 9 AM at Lee High School.

Alex, Josie, and I attended the events together.

We were able to see Gabby before and after her events, and

we also got to hang out with Veronica (Gabby's proud mom).

It was a hot, sunny day, but we all had such a good time.

It is always good to hang out with family and support one another.

Her school, Pease Magnet Elementary School, finished 2nd in the event. 

Gabby also placed 2nd in the 200m race...no pix right now.

My great-nephew (John) painted some of the trim on my sister's home,

and as soon as I get pix of it, I will post here as well. 

Sara and I loved the color that Aurora picked.

John has done an awesome job painting thus far (TBC)...

 Thanks to everyone who participated although I know that "thanks" was not needed.

I am so glad and so proud of everyone who got together on Mother's Day to celebrate

their respective moms, and for those who continued with the celebration, with my sisters

and I, at the cemetery to honor our family Matriarch.

Our sister (Josie) spoke beautiful words about Mama

right before we let our balloons go off into the awesome sky that day.

Thanks to our sisters for the idea of the balloon launch

and for helping to bring us all together on this special day. 

I have such wonderful sisters---I wish the same for everyone.

Mama was proud of us--I am certain, and I know she felt our love.

As much as we miss her, today was a day to pay our respects

and to honor her in a joyful manner!

Her daughter (Michelle) gave her the two, multi-colored-outside-lights and

bought her MD's lunch at Cowboy's Steakhouse & Restaurant.

Ari gave her g-ma (Aurora) and her mom (Michelle) a cake...

The cake, I was told, was good; you can tell as it is almost gone.  LOL!

Dominique and Ayden gave their (g-ma / great-g-ma Aurora) this beautiful pic.

She also received beautiful flowers from her other son (Rudy) and his family--

her grand-daughters (Gabby and Gracie), and daughter-in-law (Veronica)
